the cherry blossoms had just begun to bloom when she told me “i just need more time” she tried her best to forget the last six weeks and tried her hardest to forgive the last six months she tried she packed it in a suitcase in her mind and forgot and when she took it out again in a few years nothing seemed strange, but everything changed who cares it’s just another up in the air

five minutes left and now i wish that i’d averted course to cavendish i hear it’s nice this time of year with all its chinook winds and grievances expressed sterling you scared me half to death the heaving in your chest prevents a breath from getting out, you look down out of fear and all along i thought it was for us the rolling blunderbuss and so we run to the sun to leave this behind the light protects you from the shade the sheets curl in the bed you’ve always made a little warmer with the presence of your beating heart and stationary veins we drank our strain in paper cups decided that we weren’t worth the fuss but i know you see the beauty ‘neath debris this beauty needs to breathe and so we run to the sun to leave this behind white moon, white sky, white house on the water poolside, lakefront, ocean view, it’s all there sighs in silence size us smaller now white moon, white house, white sky all around grey moon, white house, blue sky, blue water sleep soon, don’t call, don’t bother worries of a waiting wolf replaced with loneliness and a pale horse’s face and so we run to the sun to leave this behind

Anna Says 04:48
cool breeze and a subtle glance anna says she wrote the book her friends told me where to look to find another chance candor with a femme mystique anna came another eve said she would soon have to leave i was happy just to hear her speak first gen from a broken home anna circumvents clichés of upper-middle class malaise she likes to be (left) alone too strong and a bit too soon anna wants a law degree says we can’t all be lou reed calls me bud and goes back to her room crimson and a hint of jade weeks go by but anna stays and occupies my head for days which otherwise are empty, pale, and staid autumn and a love resigned meanwhile, anna, quite the catch for boys who take what they can latch has caught the urge and found what she could find small talk as a backup plan anna never looked so good said she was in the neighborhood i tell her next time ring me in advance silence and a faint surprise anna looks to me upset i ask her what, did she forget the way she used to give me lover’s eyes nightfall on a wounded dove anna turned the other way crossed her legs as if to say “you’re not entitled to the ones you love” cold wind, soaked to the bone sitting waiting for the train i thought anna said it wouldn’t rain but what did she (i) ever know

if we only had today, i know exactly what i’d say if i wrote it all, it wouldn’t be enough for your love and if the skies were grey not blue, you’d have to sing to their hearts too i know your voice could carry all the way, just not today the weather’s good, the weather’s bad the weather goes and makes you sad the summer flowers bursting into bloom are coming soon ‘cause even though sometimes it snows it’s only to make way, god knows for better times and places yet to be away from me let’s just watch the colors fade away drift into an optimistic state there’s barely time to breathe and none to hate we just want to rollerblade someday while you’re off and on your own and oh so very far from home if it’s not too much trouble, write to me, please write to me oh, promise me that you’ll be true, oh darling i’m in love with you if i could go with you, you know i would let’s just watch the colors fade away drift into an optimistic state there’s barely time to breathe and none to hate we just want to rollerblade someday and since the skies are grey not blue, and they’re my only path to you i guess i’ll have to wait a little while for your smile
